Join the celebration at JohnMartin's for Burns Night on Thursday, January 31 with a special event recognizing Robbie Burns as the greatest Scottish poet that ever lived. He also wrote Auld Lang Syne. On this night we present a traditional Burns Dinner complete with bagpipes and live music, starting at 7:30pm. This involves serving the traditional fare and drinks as those that most appreciate the great wordsmith recite noble passages, while lowering their inhibitions to a level that Burns himself might extol. The menu will include Cock-A-Leekie soup, Haggis warm reeking, rich with Champit Tatties, Bashed Neeps, Roastit Beef, Scottish Plum Puding, Dalwhinnie Butter Sauce and a Tassy O' Coffee. |

To find a poem, song, letter, epitaph, epigram, or epistle suitable for reading during a Burns Supper celebration, you need look no further than any complete Burns edition at your local library. It's all there - the entire breadth of human emotion and experience - distilled through the haze of 18th century English and archaic Lowland Scots. Popular readings and song from the Burns canon include such favorites as: To a Mouse; A Bottle And Friend; Scotch Drink; Anna; A Red, Red Rose; Bruce's Address at Bannockburn; Address to a Haggis; To a Louse; and of course, Tam o' Shanter.
